Dear... Basketball
Catastrophe, an utter devastating tragedy. One of your favorite sons, most certain now more than ever, a patriarch to the NBA persona . Kobe Bean Bryant has passed along with his daughter and 7 others…
I write to you, a fan, heartbroken and distraught, frozen in time now as the whole world constantly questions and relives the would be day. Kobe? Black Mamba?! Are you f#@%ing serious?!?! What he could have continually contributed to the NBA, to the world! Robbed we are of this light that shined and pulled all us to you. Or are we? Maybe now it’s up the heroes remaining to fill Kobe shoes, to keep Mamba mentality alive. To pull together and push us down a better road.
I feel a change in the air, in a time of divisiveness. We are all coming together to mourn from all different views and parts of the world. We mourn a hero we all witnessed greatness from. But you pull us together and draw in heroines to give us hope. But in the end I hope Kobe’s passing can be an olive branch that make us all come together.
Wishful thinking?
